Howdens - Liverpool Long Lane

Howdens was established in 1995 and is a British manufacturer. It began with 14 depots and now operates nearly 900 locations across the UK, France, and Belgium. The company holds a Royal Warrant by Appointment to His Majesty the King since 2025 and was named the UK's number one supplier of trade kitchens by Mintel in 2025. Howdens operates a trade-only model, selling exclusively to trade professionals.

Its cabinets are manufactured in the UK from sustainable FSC® and PEFC™ certified materials and carry a 25-year guarantee. It offers an exclusive range of Lamona appliances with a 3-year guarantee as standard. Howdens sells more than 2.7 million doors annually, representing one in four doors sold in the UK.

Design expertise and personal service emerge as the strongest themes, with staff guiding customers through kitchen plans and solving layout problems when original ideas shift. The team, among them Martin, Matt, Harriet and Brian, is described as friendly, dependable and quick to respond, offering advice on product ranges without any pressure. Customers note that finished kitchens include generous storage and considered details, such as an oven repositioned to the opposite side of the room and a large sink, and that the quality of the result matches what was promised at the design stage.

The speed with which minor issues are put right once raised comes up often, alongside the efficiency of everyone involved. Buyers also recall being shown a range of price options, which made choosing easier, and having their questions answered clearly throughout. Accounts of the Liverpool depot emphasise collaborative problem-solving from first drawings to completion, with particular credit for Matt's informative guidance on unit selection and Martin's experience in overcoming awkward design challenges. Purchasers of the FROME kitchen and extractor hood describe a straightforward process, and the consistent thread is a professional service that delivers on its commitments from design through to fitting.
