Fantastic professional service with amazing software that allows you in real time to see your ideas in 3D
We’ve had a really good experience from start to finish with the folks at Wrens Plymouth. Jack who did the initial survey took considerable time and was very thorough in getting the details just right. Hannah Elliott translated them very skilfully into CAD drawings which enabled us to clearly see the opportunities open to us. Nothing was too much trouble from design and selecting the fixtures and fittings that suited our budget and aspirations. Hannah was always on hand to help when we occasionally changed our minds. The kitchen we now have exceeds our expectations, is a bright and airy place with first class equipment and lots of storage space. Big thanks to the team.
My mum and dad spent 18k on there kitchen. When is was first done it really looked great. However issues started arising, and dispite things being under warranty wren did EVERYTHING they could to avoid sorting. My poor mum and dad got so stressed with it all. Multiple phone calls and waiting. 2 issues a door fell off and the plan by the microwave opening was faulty and so the door opening would push the fitting out so the push catch wouldn't work. Wren told me parents that if they did anything it would void the warranty but also were not willing to do anything as kitchen was fitted to plan....such bad service. Then the door was not fitting as the space had somehow become smaller at the bottom compared to the top. They claimed it was fitted correctly at the time. Which how could they know this for sure? They had the audacity to tell my mum and dad that they had forcibly removed the door and caused damage so they would not be fixing it?!?!? Why would they forcibly remove the door. After all that money aftercare is shocking, they don't take responsibility after the kitchen is fitted and are terrible at communicating and getting back to you. They caused my mum and dad an extream amount of stress and their beautiful kitchen that they saved up for is just been a headache and upset for them. I feel really sorry for my mum and dad and wren should be ashamed of their treatment of them. AVOID AT ALL COSTS
I could go on and on with the issues I encountered during this installation. Wren Kitchens are the only supplier still using 18mm laminate doors, and several of those doors arrived bowed. The carcasses were out of square, making the entire fitting process unnecessarily difficult. Even the hinges were adjusted to their limit straight out of the box, forcing me to remove and refix hinge plates — something that should never be required on any new kitchen, let alone one at this price point. I’ve been in the trade for 20 years, and each time I fit a Wren kitchen the quality seems to get worse. This will be the last time I ever install one.
Disgraceful company. Avoid at all costs. Appear helpful in store (Plymouth) then lie when it goes wrong. Put poor quality installer into our home who caused damage then wash their hands of all responsibility. Do not trust. Update: further to Wren reaching out to offer support via this review, we have already done this multiple times and their customer support team have also lied on several occasions and have falsified records of calls to say that they offered a refund when in fact all they offered was a partial in-store credit against a product we didn't want to try, to overcome the fact their fitter didn't want to fit the product they supplied. As said before, disgraceful.
Will write a more detailed one later, but summary: Customer service great before they take your money, after, they don't care. Delivery good and delivery crew nice. Cabinets good quality, used a third party fitter which I am glad we did as dealing with Wren is a nightmare. Also got countertops cheaper from a local supplier and glad for that as the templater used to work for wren and told us how much of a nightmare wren are at templating. Overall experience glad to have the cabinets and the interest free credit is good, but the companies claim that it prides itself on customer service is laughable. Avoid? Maybe not, just don't trust them and ensure you chase every single thing they say they will do. Oh and also don't user their fitters or worktops!
Our new kitchen arrived two days ago. Our fitters were here, we were excited to get going. Unfortunately, that has quickly turned into a nightmare. Our initial inspection revealed that each unit we looked at had greasy fingerprints that did not rub off with standard household cleaner. We have subsequently inspected over 30 units - every single one of them is marked, and several are damaged. Some of the carcasses even had marks on the inside. There was no protective covering on any of the units - most companies deliver kitchens film wrapped to avoid this. What we have received has all the hallmarks of a 'seconds' kitchen yet we have been reassured it was made specifically for us and left the factory brand new. The freezer and extractor fan that were part of the order were not delivered because they were out of stock. No attempt to inform us of this was made and we found out the morning of the delivery that we would be without a freezer. Many of the panels arrived with hard black plastic corner protectors on; these had marked the panels which I believe would only happen following a number of hot/cold cycles, which would also make them brittle. I have been informed that the industry standard is corrugated cardboard corners, or air filled plastic - both offer better protection and environmental care. At this point we contacted customer 'care' to explain the problems. I have now spent hours on the phone trying to come to some arrangements but Wren appeared to not want to take responsibility. I was told I needed to send a picture of every single item that was damaged for them to arrange a replacement. After doing this for more than 30 units we ran out of time. We had not opened a single unit that was not marked or damaged. When I called again, I was still told that they would only arrange for delivery of the items that we had photographed and sent them. The solution for the freezer and extractor fan was for them to refund it and for me to purchase from somewhere else which somewhat missed the point of the inconvenience that Wren's service had caused me. The kitchen was delivered on Thursday. I eventually spoke to a manager after two hours on the phone. He reassured me he would call me back on Friday detailing how he would compensate me for the inconvenience and resolve the issues. When I hadn't heard from him by 4pm on Friday I called back - apparently he was going to call me in the next ten or fifteen minutes. His resolution was to replace the units I had sent pictures of, and some money to cover the fitters' fees. At this point he pointed out the advice is to not book the fitters until the kitchen had arrived and been inspected. I queried how big his house was that he thought it feasible for me to store a new kitchen whilst an old kitchen is in place and why the onus was not on Wren to deliver a product fit for installation. Unfortunately, the supervisor/manager had not at this stage planned any real way to compensate us for the fact that every unit needed replacing and he continued to insist that he needed photos of each item to be replaced. I am waiting for a call back from both him and the Ombudsman on Monday to discuss next steps. I will be happy to update this review if a satisfactory outcome is reached but at this point Wren have left a family of four without any means for cooking, washing dishes, freezing food or having space to move around due to the number of units that remain in their packaging. I was not contacted as promised so I am not optimistic that I will be contacted on Monday. As it stands I would actively urge people to get their kitchen from somewhere else - the planning (selling) in the shop was brilliant. The delivery was straightforward. But everything involved in having a kitchen that can be used and is worth the money paid and rectifying problems has been abysmal and required huge levels of effort on my behalf, whereas I think given the situation I have sent evidence of Wren should have been going out of their way to resolve the situation. Very, very poor.
