Howdens - Southampton

Howdens is a British manufacturer established in 1995. It began with 14 depots and now operates nearly 900 locations across the UK, France, and Belgium. The company holds a Royal Warrant by Appointment to His Majesty the King since 2025 and was named the UK's number one supplier of trade kitchens by Mintel in 2025. It operates a trade-only model, selling exclusively to trade professionals, and serves more than 470,000 loyal trade professionals.

Howdens provides kitchens, joinery, and hardware products. Its cabinets are manufactured in the UK from sustainable FSC and PEFC certified materials and carry a 25-year guarantee. It offers more than 100 kitchen designs and an exclusive range of Lamona appliances, which come with a 3-year guarantee as standard. Howdens sells more than 2.7 million doors each year.

Kitchen units, sinks, baths and the wider supply of kitchen furniture, appliances and flooring form the core of the work described by customers of this Southampton depot. Several reviewers highlight the smooth running of installations, with units and a sink fitted without disruption and the plumber who removed an old bath and fitted its replacement doing so carefully, sealing everything properly and leaving the bathroom clean. Reliability and helpfulness come up often, particularly the willingness of the team to answer calls, respond to queries and take the stress out of a kitchen refurbishment.

Named members of staff attract consistent praise: Stan is described as full of useful advice and never making a request seem like trouble, Kev is credited with a clear, concise approach that put a customer at ease, and Dan, Nicky and Luke are singled out as brilliant. Reviewers also mention the counter and warehouse running smoothly, a friendly and professional manner, and fitters who tidy up at the end of each day. The knowledge and efficiency of the staff, alongside the range of products for kitchens and bathrooms, recur as the reasons customers return.
