Howdens - North Peterborough

Howdens was established in 1995 as a British manufacturer. It started with 14 depots and now has nearly 900 locations. In 2025, Howdens was named the UK's number one supplier of trade kitchens by Mintel and holds a Royal Warrant by Appointment to His Majesty the King.

The company operates a trade-only model, selling only to trade professionals. Its cabinets are manufactured in the UK from FSC and PEFC certified materials and carry a 25-year guarantee. Lamona appliances come with a 3-year guarantee as standard. Howdens offers kitchens, joinery, and hardware products from local stock.

Peterborough homeowners planning a new kitchen repeatedly highlight the design service at this depot, with Maria named again and again for her patience, thorough attention to detail and skill at turning vague ideas into a clear layout, including three-dimensional plans for substantial projects. Chantelle draws similar praise for unhurried appointments in which plans are properly discussed. A recurring theme across the accounts is the willingness of staff to listen and offer considered advice rather than steer customers towards a set package.

Several reviewers describe the finished installations as well made and hard wearing, and the wider choice of associated products, from appliances and doors to flooring and hardware, is treated as a practical benefit when a project spans more than one room, helping work continue without hold-ups. The impression given is of a well-run, professional operation in which dialogue before and during the design stage keeps people informed, and the completed kitchen reflects the decisions taken at the planning stage, with Maria's expertise in creating a three-dimensional model repeatedly identified as central to that outcome.
