What customers say

Based on genuine customer reviews

Householders planning complete kitchen refits and bathroom upgrades describe a process that runs smoothly from quotation through to the finished installation. A detail many reviews return to is the depth of product knowledge shown by Ian Lacey, whose consultation and readiness to take account of individual requirements are singled out, while Colin and Carl are named for careful, unobtrusive fitting. The transformation itself recurs as the central theme: replacement doors, side panels, handles, plinths and cornices for tired kitchens, bathrooms adapted for accessibility without an institutional look, and granite surfaces cut to size for splashbacks and worktops.

Punctual arrival and completion within the agreed schedule are mentioned frequently, as is the tidiness maintained throughout each day so that disruption stays minimal. Communication before and after the job is described as strong, and the value for money is rated better than expected for the standard of finish. Difficulties, such as a kitchen originally installed without side panels, are said to have been spotted and dealt with during the work. The town of Stapleton serves as the showroom base where customers view stone displays before ordering, and the finished spaces draw favourable comments from visitors.

I wish I could tell you that this was all one big fabrication, but this company has completely transformed my entire kitchen. It has changed my whole home, and it's no joke. I thought that the price tag associated with this level of service and craftsmanship would be a bitter pill to swallow, but the reality is that I was absolutely astounded by the value for money. My old kitchen was beyond it's expiration date, and Granite Transformations turned it into a beautiful sanctuary filled with grace and decorum. Highly recommend.

We initially met with Wendy at the Hinckley showroom who provided us with a glossy brochure and set an appointment for Jamie Wilbur to meet at our home to provide us a quotation for worktops and up stands. Jamie discussed our needs and provided a quote of £3,264.00, taking into account the impressive claims made within your brochure we accepted the quote paying a deposit of £816.00. We were later contacted again and advised that a further visit would be needed to carry out “templating” on 1st July. It was Ian who attended for this purpose and spent no longer than 10-15 minutes taking basic measurements. We were again contacted to request a further payment of £816.00 and scheduled for the work to be done on 21st/22nd July. Liam the fitter arrived as scheduled at our home on 21st July and it is from this point on that we became aware that Liam not only lacked any respect for our home but that he also lacked the skill set and expertise described within the glossy sales brochure. Liam failed to put protective coverings anywhere in our kitchen which ultimately resulted in all surfaces being covered in dust. It became blatantly clear at this stage that Ian hadn’t bothered to “template” our worktops as there was a large tapered gap to the side of the fridge freezer unit. One upstand was cut too short, and neither upstands were profiled when fitted leaving a huge gaps. Liam then continued to apply copious amounts of poorly color matched mastic to all joints. At this point I put a hold on all work and demanded Ian contact me. As Ian was on annual leave I was asked to provide images of the dreadful work. Ian contacted me and acknowledged the defects and suggested that “remedial work was required” Ian initial remedial visit; Replaced upstands profiling to walls. Attempted to close tapered gap unsuccessfully and damaged the fridge end panel. Ian agreed a further visit to correct the tapered gap. Ian & Liam attended again and removed the fridge freezer unit and adjacent unit. Correction was made to the tapered gap and the kitchen reinstated. Following their visit we noted that the Fridge freezer was fitted incorrectly and out of plumb Fridge freezer doors were not gapped correctly. Considerable damage had been caused to the oven housing, fridge freezer cabinet and external wall scuffed. It goes without saying that on two occasions I made good all repairs to cabinets and decorations and also provided paint and materials. Ian initially offered a small discount of £132.00 by way of a gesture of goodwill, however this was not considered sufficient given the trauma, disappointment, distress and intrusion we have suffered during these works. This amount was then negotiated upwards and the final invoice was then settled. It is such a shame that Granite Transformations seem incapable of providing the “highly professional installation team” as described in their brochure. It is my opinion that Liam is no better than an average DIYer and shouldn’t be let loose on projects of this nature.

New kitchen from these in 2017. Peeling doors after just 7yrs and advised by them to replace all at a cost of £1500. So almost £2500 would be spent in 7yrs on just doors. No handles no hinges . I only have 8 cupboards too Record all conversations and preferably only communicate in writing with them

After talking to a number of businesses regarding my kitchen renovation I chose Granite Transformations as Ian, the owner, was by far the most knowledgeable. He also listened to our requirements, which is annoyingly rare nowadays from my experience. We had new side panels, doors, handles, plinths and cornices. The fact that our kitchen had originally been fitted without any side panels presented a number of challenges. Ian identified all of the issues we did, plus some we didn't, and then solved them all with outstanding attention to detail. Sure there were some compromises, but the finished result is excellent and it looks much better than the original kitchen did. I must also mention that the fitter, also called Ian, did a brilliant job. He just came in and got on with it, providing a very high standard of workmanship. There were only a few minor issues post installation. For example, when the protective tape was removed, one of the drawer fronts had a small chip, which is just one of those things. These were resolved in a timely manner. I am sure you can tell I am very happy with the kitchen renovation and would happily recommend Granite Transformations.

This place was such a lucky find. We wanted a splash back for our kitchen and most on line places wanted £150+ for black glass. We found this place by accident and enquired about a granite splash back, and they were so accommodating. They have us exactly what we wanted, cut to size and at a fraction of the price of on line sellers. The staff are lovely and so helpful, and after looking at their displays I wish I had gone here for my kitchen instead of wren (who are terrible). The displays are so professional, all with lovely granite worktops, they also do replacement doors and drawers custom made to fit. This place is a little gold mine and if your looking to spruce up your kitchen, definately give them a visit.
