Bensons for Beds Peterborough

I recently ordered a bed and an iGel mattress from Benson for Beds in Peterborough, and the whole experience was excellent. The store had a really nice atmosphere, welcoming and relaxed. David was especially helpful, he gave me all the information I needed without being pushy, which made the process easy and stress-free. Really happy with the service and would definitely recommend!

Went in Friday 8th August. Was served by a guy in there, approx 55-60. He asked us budget and he wasn't impressed. It was £500-£700 for a mattress, possibly adding a bed too. He asked some questions and showed us some relevant picks. They were relevant. But got frustrated that me and my wife have different preferences. We found our favourite and asked for a quote to be wrote down as we were looking around ( I dont know what the mattress is called). He offered a 10% discount if were ordered by 6pm. He instructed the young guy (the only reason I'm giving 2* as I feel sorry for thus guy). He obviously got confused and gave me an incorrect quote. That's ok. I asked him to redo. The guy who served us had completely disappeared. He then reappeared a while after, id been chatting to the younger guy, and asked what's the hold up, I said there had been some confusion and it was being sorted. He said, "if you want a job doing, do it yourself", and belittled the guy who was only taking his time beacause we had been chatting. At this point me and my wife made eye contact and we knew that we whatever they offered, we were not going to order from here in principle. They guy slammed the paper on the desk and instructed they younger man to give me it. He then dissapeared again. The young chap then explained the quote to me, was very competent and polite. I asked him to thank the other guy for his time ( he knew what I meant, he should have been there in person for me to do that). We then went to Dreams round the corner. We spent over 2 hours in there, used their fancy mattress preference machine, tried the same mattresses again and again. They man who served us, feel really bad I can't remember his name, was an absolute pleasure. He was patient, we had our son and twin toddler girls with us (the age where they want to walk around everywhere!). I even said Ill miss not having him stood at the foot of my bed at home haha! We ended up leaving having ordered £3500 worth. The experience, the service, and the result, are night and day.

I was looking for 3 new mattresses for my new house, Andy was helpful on the initial visit & explained the differences between different ranges & models. We had a think & came back the next day to make our decision. David helped us decide what was best for us, did some more explaining on the benefits of different ranges & how that translates into the real life use of the mattress. We placed our order & David was very helpful, we had a laugh & got something ticked off my never ending list. I hope the great customer service continues regarding the delivery & the quality of the products we have chosen.

I bought a bed and a mattress for them 2021for my daughter, due to poor assembly of the bed a bolt had loosed under the bed of a ottoman. So when we pressed the bed in the last 6 months the pressure was put on the top of the bed causing a wooden piece to stick out and nails. My daughter has since injured herself on these nails. I reached out through the customer service WhatsApp thing told to send pictures and then they told me to wait 24-48hrs. I waited and received an email saying it was our fault of accidental damage and that they couldn't do anything. I'm appalled by the team as it isn't accidental damage when the fault was of bensons of beds for poor assembly of the bed. I splurged on the bed as Ibelieved id be covered by their 5 year guarantee but it seems that the guarantee does not cover anything. I regularly don't leave reviews but from the service I received I feel a need to. Also just to note the bit that connects the 2 parts of the bed has also broken off but again that is ‘accidental damage ‘ .

DO NOT BUY FROM BENSONS. Not even worthy of 1 star. Their warranty on beds means nothing and they will try to ignore you if you complain. The sales staff will mislead you and tell you what you want to hear to get a sale. We are left with a silent night mattress that broke in the first month or so and Bensons have done nothing to help and ignored our deadline. I would urge all who have experienced similar to report Bensons to Trading Standards and take them to the small claims court if your bed is not satisfactory quality and fit for it’s purpose.

Went into the store. Was greeted by David. Found what I wanted, which was a proper sturdy wooden framed bed. He answered a few questions I had. Bought the bed which was a swift process and he let me know what would happen with delivery. It was delivered on time and on said day. Delivery men I had no problem with. They get given wagons that let water in, but they checked with me present one box that had a wet end, and no damage was on the bed, however I liked their honesty and that they didn't just leave me with potentially a damaged bed. Overall was flawless from going into the shop, David and the delivery men and the whole process. The bed was a piece of cake to put together aswell. And now the only noises come from her, and not the bed aswell, which is exactly what I was looking for in this bed frame.

Sales people in shop very good at their job and very helpful. Just a shame it doesn’t carry on with after sales . My Dad ordered his bed from here after our recommendation, and a date was agreed for delivery. This was then postponed later as they didn’t have the base just the matress . Finally delivered only to discover after delivery a tear in the base and was told by delivery men to phone office . Since then our local branch has closed with no point of contact locally . A date was finally agreed but heard nothing . Dad rang a national number and had to wait 45 minutes to get through only to be told the date was the following Friday 8/4 between 8 and 1pm. Waited in all morning but heard nothing no text or nothing. I would not recommend Bensons for this reason
